How we help

Four themes, one common thread

Whether it is about direction, culture, transformation or technology — it always comes down to the same thing: the insurance and pensions sector is on the eve of serious choices that must be implemented successfully.

Strategy

A clear course for market, customer, product, process and technology. I help executive and supervisory boards translate ambitions into choices that are both executable and well-founded.

  • Vision and strategy development
  • Business cases & investment decisions
  • Product and portfolio strategy
  • Make-buy-partner trade-offs

International culture & corporate culture

Change succeeds or fails with people. With experience in more than ten European countries, I help collaboration work across borders, languages and corporate cultures.

  • International collaboration
  • Culture in mergers & integrations
  • Making change stick
  • Bridging head office and local teams
  • Coaching of managers

IT/OPS & finance transformations

The major programmes where systems, operations and finance come together. From migrations and system replacement to redesigning processes and management control.

  • Programme & transformation management
  • System replacement & migration
  • Process and organisation design
  • Management information & governance

The role of AI in software development

AI is rapidly changing how software is built. I help organisations take a level-headed view of what AI does — and does not — mean for their development, quality and people.

  • Opportunities & limits of AI tooling
  • Impact on development process & teams
  • Quality, risk and governance
  • Pragmatic adoption approach

Ways I can help

How I contribute

Depending on your challenge, I contribute in the role that adds the most value — from a short, independent review to temporary end responsibility.

Strategy development

Setting a course together with the executive and supervisory board that is well-founded and executable — from market and product choices to make-buy-partner trade-offs.

Second opinion

An independent review for the executive board or supervisory board of a strategy, business case or ongoing programme: is it right, is it feasible and where are the risks?

Programme oversight & QA

Supporting the incumbent programme director, coaching him or her towards successfully realising the objectives. In addition, quality assurance and steering of major programmes, such as system replacement, migration and the implementation of the Dutch pension reform (Wtp) — spotting early what goes wrong and correcting course.

Interim roles

Taking temporary responsibility, for example as programme director or in a line management role — with experience as statutory CEO and COO.

Approach

What an engagement looks like

01

Listen & sharpen

Drawing on market knowledge and insight into how the future is unfolding, we map the real issue — not the symptom. Without obligation and in confidence.

02

Analyse & advise

Well-founded advice with clear options, trade-offs and a concrete proposal for the next step.

03

Deliver & embed

If desired, I stay involved in the execution — on my own or together with partners.
